NICOLE WHITESELL (REHEARSAL DIRECTOR) graduated Magna Cum Laude from Missouri State University with a BFA in Dance Performance. While attending MSU, she was a member of the Inertia Dance Company where she toured local elementary schools working with children to enhance reading and creative thinking skills through creative movement, performed and worked with guest artists. Upon graduating from MSU, Nicole moved to New York City to dance with Dodge Dance Company. While in New York, Nicole also danced with Amy Marshall Dance Company and Luxdance. Nicole joined MADCO seven seasons ago when she moved back to St. Louis. While working with MADCO, Nicole has had the pleasure of working with a number of guest artists including Gina Patterson, Jennifer Archibald, Ronen Koresh, and Michael Uthoff. Along with studying dance performance, Nicole also has a passion for dance education. In New York, Nicole taught at various schools on Long Island and was an adjunct faculty member at Webster University and at several local dance studios. Nicole is currently the Artistic Director and Curriculum Coordinator at Rokita Dance Center in St. Peters, Missouri. Nicole is always excited for another amazing year with MADCO.
ELYSE ANDERSEN is a passionate and curious dancer who hails from the great state of Oklahoma. After spending most of her youth in the theatre, Elyse earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma where she studied with Austin Hartel, Derrick Minter, and Rebecca Herrin. Throughout her college years, she has the privilege of studying at the Martha Graham School for Contemporary Dance, the American Dance Festival, and the Boulder Jazz Dance workshop. In her professional life, Elyse has worked with such artists at Jennifer Archibald, Ashley McQueen, Jennifer Medina, Joseph Mills, and Gina Patterson. Along with her passion to perform, Elyse enjoys teaching and is on staff at Dance Creations (Desloge, MO) and Piroutettes (Columbia, IL). Elyse is absolutely thrilled to be dancing with MADCO for another season!
BELICIA BECK is a graduate of the University of Missouri - St. Louis with a degree in Dance. Belicia danced with Spectrum Dance Team in England and Arrive Dance Company. Working in the studio setting since a young age, Belicia has always enjoyed teaching and teaches modern, jazz, ballet, tap and gymnastics. In 2012, she served as an apprentice with MADCO and in 2013 became a company member. During her time with the company, she worked with Joseph Mills, Lindsay Hawkins, Jennifer Archibald, Gina Patterson and Nejla Yatkin.
CLAIRE HILLEREN is from St. Louis and received her BFA in Dance with a ballet emphasis from Webster University in December 2008. Claire has choreographed for St. Charles Community College and attended the American Dance Festival in North Carolina. While at ADF, she took classes with David Dorfman, Ohad Naharin, Mark Haim, Abby Yager, Ishmael Houston- Jones, David Brick, and Yvonne Meiers. She also worked with Ruth Andrien on Paul Taylor repertoire. In 2009, she performed with David Dorfman Dance in "Underground". Claire also has a love for aerial arts. She performed on silks for MADCO's 2009- 2010 season and hopes to do more works with aerial apparatuses. In 2011, she attended the Aerial Dance Festival in Boulder, CO. She worked with Danielle Hendricks learning how to dance on bungees and also had the pleasure of working with Kevin O'Connor on the corde lisse, and incorporating Frey Fausts Axis technique into the repertoire. Claire has been a MADCO company member since 2009.
DARRELL V. HYCHE II from Kansas City, Missouri, received his BFA in Dance Performance and his BS in Psychology from Missouri State University in Springfield. While there, he was a member of the university’s touring performance group, The Inertia Dance Company. Darrell has performed with the Springfield Ballet and the Ashleyliane Dance Company. As a scholarship student at the American Dance Festival, he has worked with Brenda Daniels, Courtney Harris, Elizabeth Corbett, James Sitton, T. Lang, and Sherone Price. He has also performed in repertory works by William Forsythe, Nicholas Leichter, and Merce Cunningham. Darrell joined MADCO in 2014.
MONICA MEYR joined MADCO in 2009. She graduated from the College - Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati as Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, and is a graduate of the Jordan College Academy of Dance at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. She performed as a guest artist with professional companies such as Cincinnati Ballet, Kentucky Ballet Theater and Gregory Hancock Dance Theater. She attended summer programs at the American Ballet Theater, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater under Judith Jamison as a Fellowship Student, Complexions Contemporary Ballet with Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, River North Chicago Dance Company under Frank Chaves, and Spectrum Dance Theater under Donald Byrd. Monica performed pieces choreographed by Bart Cook, Rodney Gustafson, Christine Spizzo, Peter S. London, Pedro Ruiz, Kirk Peterson, Cecil Slaughter, Keith Williams, Mikey Thomas, Alcine Wiltz, Joseph Mills, Michael Foley, Michael Uthoff, Jennifer Archibald, Gina Patterson, Nejla Yatkin and Ronen Koresh.
JEFF MITCHELL joined MADCO in 2010. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with majors in Anthropology and Dance. Since then he has worked with a variety of local groups including Leverage Dance, The Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Dawn Karlovsky and Dancers, and The Slaughter Project. He has studied with numerous teachers and while at MADCO has performed the work of Gina Patterson, Jennifer Archibald, Pilobolus, Michael Foley, Cecil Slaughter, Ronen Koresh, Nejla Yatkin, Joseph Mills, and Alcine Wiltz among others.
DARYON KENT (APPRENTICE) began his dance training at Ms. Bridget's Conservatoire of Dance and continued training at Central Visual Performing Arts High School (CVPA) under the direction of Raymond Parks. Daryon became a member of Alexandra School of Ballet under the artistic direction of Alexandra Zaharias and appeared in featured roles in "The Nutcracker", "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "Giselle", "Coppelia", and in Chicago's Regional Dance America performance of "La Bayadere". Daryon performed in the 5th Annual St. Louis Fox Teen Talent Competition "The Dancing Six" and was awarded 3rd place. More recently, Daryon performed in the Spring to Dance Festival 2015, "Fugata", Milwaukee Ballet, "Emergence", and Cincinnati Ballet "Excerpts from Le Corsaire 2015".
