Monica Alunday joined MADCO in 2009. She graduated from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati as Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, and is a graduate of the Jordan College Academy of Dance at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. She performed as a guest artist with professional companies such as Cincinnati Ballet, Kentucky Ballet Theater and Gregory Hancock Dance Theater. She attended summer programs at the American Ballet Theater, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater under Judith Jamison as a Fellowship Student, Complexions Contemporary Ballet with Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, River North Chicago Dance Company under Frank Chaves, and Spectrum Dance Theater under Donald Byrd. Ms. Alunday performed pieces choreographed by Bart Cook, Rodney Gustafson, Christine Spizzo, Peter S. London, Pedro Ruiz, Kirk Peterson, Cecil Slaughter, Keith Williams, Michael Thomas, Alcine Wiltz, Joseph Mills, Michael Foley, and Michael Uthoff.
Elyse Andersen is a native Oklahoman and a recent graduate of the University of Oklahoma where she received her BFA in Modern Dance Performance. During her time at OU she performed with the University’s resident modern company, Contemporary Dance Oklahoma, working with Austin Hartel, Derrick Minter, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Helen Simoneau and Maxine Sherman. Elyse has attended intensives at Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop, the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance and the American Dance Festival where she worked with Brenda Daniels, Mark Haim, Richard Chen-see and Amanda Miller.
R. Vance Baldwin, native of St. Joseph, Missouri, holds a Bachelor of Science in Education-Vocal Emphasis-from Missouri Western State University, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from University of Missouri-Kansas City. He has danced/choreographed for Modern American Dance Company (current), 940 Dance Company, Reach....a movement collective inc., Robidoux Resident Theater, Eubank Productions and Creative Arts Production (CAP). He has been a master teacher for The Dance Arts Center, Lawrence Arts Center and currently teaches dance, voice and piano for Midwest Dance Academy in O'Fallon, Illinois. Recently, his choreographic work “Footprints in the Sand” performed by Dance Arts Center Competition Team, took first place at the “I Love to Dance” competition in Kansas City, Missouri.
Brandon Fink is native to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from the University of Central Oklahoma. Brandon began his performance experience as a member of Kaleidoscope Dance Company at UCO from 2008-2011, under the direction of Jamie Jacobson. He began his professional career as an apprentice with R.A.C.E. Dance Company in Oklahoma City from 2010-11. Brandon attended the American Dance Festival in 2011 as a performer with the ADF Past/Forward Gala: “Sweet Fields” by Twyla Tharp held in Durham, N.C. He was also selected for the 2012 River North Dance Company Apprentice Program in Chicago. This is his second season with MADCO.
Jason Flodder is a graduate of Ball State University with a degree in dance and a minor in musical theatre. He has trained with David Hochoy (Martha Graham), George de la Pena (ABT), Michael Worcel (42nd Street), Audra Sokol, and Lou Ann Young. Jason has worked as a dance and musical artist at Busch Gardens, Paramount and Fancy Pants Inc. In Summer 2011 he participated in the Aerial Dance Festival in Colorado Springs, Colorado produced by Frequent Flyer Productions. While in St. Louis Jason continues to choreograph for various groups including dance studio works as well as for the University of Missouri St Louis dance students. He teaches dance at Jane Mannion’s School of Dance and Turn Out Movement Dance Studio. He also serves as a dance judge for Legacy Dance Competitions and Rainbow Dance. This is Jason’s fourth season with MADCO.
Claire Hilleren is from St. Louis and received her BFA in Dance with a ballet emphasis from Webster University in December 2008. While at Webster she performed in works choreographed by St. Louis choreographers Summer Beasley and Mary Ann Rund and performed in Webster's Dance Ensembles. She also performed in Summer Beasley's "Panorama" as well as MADCO's February 2009 production of "Chimera". Claire has choreographed for St. Charles Community College's 2007 production of "Black Elk Speaks" and recently attended the American Dance Festival in North Carolina. While at ADF she took classes with David Dorfman, Ohad Naharin, Mark Haim, Abby Yager, Ishmael Houston-Jones, David Brick, and Yvonne Meiers. She also worked with Ruth Andrien on Paul Taylor repertory. In the fall of 2009 Claire performed with David Dorfman Dance in “Underground”. In 2009 Claire joined MADCO where she got the chance to work with Cecil Slaughter and Keith Williams. Claire also has a love for aerial arts. She has performed on silks for MADCO’s 2009-2010 season, and hopes to do more works with aerial apparatuses. In summer 2011 Claire attended the Aerial Dance Festival in Boulder, CO. She worked with Danielle Hendicks learning how to dance on bungees. She also had the pleasure of working with Kevin O'Connor on the corde lisse, and incorporating Frey Fausts Axis technique into the repertoire. Claire is looking forward to her third season with MADCO.
Jeffrey Mitchell is proud to be returning to a second season with MADCO. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with majors in Anthropology and Dance. Since then he has worked with a variety of local groups including aTrek Dance Collective, The Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Dawn Karlovsky and Dancers, and The Slaughter Project. His studies have taken him all around St. Louis and he hopes you enjoy MADCO as much as he does.
Nicole R. Whitesell graduated Magna Cum Laude from Missouri State University with a BFA in Dance Performance. While attending MSU, she was a member of the Intertia Dance Company, which toured local elementary schools emphasizing reading through creative movement. Upon graduation, Nicole moved to New York City to dance with Dodge Dance Company. While in New York, Nicole also danced with the Amy Marshall Dance Company and Luxdance. Nicole joined MADCO in 2009 and has enjoyed working with guest artists Cecil Slaughter, Keith Williams, Michael Uthoff and Alcine Wiltz. Another passion of Nicole’s is dance education. Nicole studied dance pedagogy and taught dance throughout college. She continued her teaching in New York at Posey School of Dance and was an assistant teacher at Ballet Tech under the direction of Elliot Feld. She is currently on the faculties of St. Peters Academy of Dance and Dance Incorporated.
Belicia Beck (Apprentice) is a senior at the University Missouri St Louis (UMSL) majoring in Dance. Her dance experience consists of 3 years on the Spectrum Dance Team in England, 11 years at Dance Explosion, 3 years with Arrive Dance Company. After interning with MADCO in 2010 she is now an Apprentice for the company. Belicia has also been a dance instructor for the past 9 years.
Alexandra Davie (Apprentice) is a St. Louis native and started her dance training in the St. Louis Visual and Performing Arts School and was later accepted into COCA. She attended Columbia College Chicago where she studied Modern dance. While in Chicago she danced two seasons with local dance company "The Willingham Project", and taught with Ailey Camp Chicago. Alexandra now attends Webster University where she is pursuing a BFA in Modern Dance. This is her first season with MADCO as an apprentice.
